Pikorua, the twist, is a relatively new Maori symbol with design roots in nature. It's said to represent the path of life and symbolize the strong bond between two loved ones. The Pikorua also connects the spirits of family, friends, and lovers, keeping the m close together even across time and space.
The koru is a spiral shape based on the appearance of a new unfurling silver fern frond. It symbolizes new beginnings, growth, and harmony.
